SSA, RMSA teachers issue: Nagaland government awaiting Cabinet meeting

Kohima, April 18 (EMN): The government of Nagaland on Monday said that it is awaiting cabinet meeting for resolving the issue of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) teachers of 2010 and 2013 batches.
It came more than 10 days after the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) and Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) reminded the government of Nagaland about the expiry of 18-month deadline for streamlining and rationalisation of SSA and RMSA teachers.
ENSF president Chingmak Chang informed that he and NSF president Kegwayhun Tep met with the chief secretary of the state on Monday as the deadline set by the government ended on the day.
The government had assured through a notification on October 18 2020 that it would solve the issue within 18 months.
It was informed that the chief secretary had told the two student bodies on Monday that the state government had compiled ‘everything’ and a memo would be sent to the cabinet for the final decision.
It may be recalled that the Nagaland Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Teachers Association (NSSATA) had earlier launched an intensive agitation before an agreement was made between the NSSATA and School Education department through the intervention of the NSF and ENSF.
