SKK observes ‘Sumi Patriots’ Day’

Dimapur, Aug. 4 (EMN): The All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) has obserbed the ‘Sumi Patriots’ Day’ on August 4 at the patriots’ monolith located at Zunheboto old town and Alahuto junction with the presence of representatives from Sumi Hoho, Sumi Kukami Hoho, STH, ZCCI, ZAPO, ZRSU and town GBs

The ‘Sumi Patriots’ Day’ is observed every year on August 4 to mark the death anniversary of Lt. Gen. Kaito Sema to honour him and those slain patriots, who have sacrificed their lives fighting for the better cause of Nagas, an update stated.

Delivering a solidarity message, Nikheto Jimo, general secretary of Sumi Hoho, stated that any individual, who worked for the better cause of the world with sincerity, would always be respected and remembered. He also encouraged everyone present at the event to be sincere in their respective field.

While reminding on the struggles Nagas are undergoing by solely depending on agricultural products from other states at this juncture due to the pandemic, Jimo advocated on traditional farming for self-sufficiency. He further empathised with the families of those patriots.

The programme was chaired by SKK general secretary Bokalu V Jimo, while the invocation was pronounced by Rev. Dr. Daniel Chishi, pastor of ZTSBC, and the welcome address was delivered by SKK president Ayeto Zhimo. The programme concluded with a denediction said by Rev. Hukugha Zhimo, executive secretary of SBAK, Nito mount.
