DIMAPUR — Saint John’s High School (SJHS), Diphupar ‘B’, organised John’s Fiesta, a two-day annual event celebrating “one’s unique and diverse culture” on October 31 and November 1 in the school campus.
OT Chingmak Chang, retired commissioner secretary, Government of Nagaland, was the special guest of the celebration, an update stated.
Chang, in his address, emphasised on the importance of embracing one’s culture and identity and preserving them.
He urged the students to always keep the words, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of all wisdom” in their hearts, while also stressing on hard work and unwavering dedication as the key ingredients to achieve success in life.
Further, the retired bureaucrat underscored the importance of reading textbooks for every student.
The school’s headmaster, Johnny Abraham, delivered the welcome address. During the two-day celebration, students from lower kindergarten (LKG) to Class 10, enthusiastically participated in a wide range of competitions including dance, action song, fancy dress, cultural show, poster making, drawing, story-telling, extempore speech, debate, essay writing, memory test, scripture reading, English and Hindi calligraphy, encompassing various forms of art, literature, and cultural expressions.
“These competitions not only showcased the students’ talents but also fostered a sense of unity and healthy competition among the students.
“John’s Fiesta was not just an event but a celebration of the school’s diverse culture, with the promise of creating lasting memories and learning experiences for all who attended,” it stated.
