DIMAPUR — The Nagaland State Level Science Drama Competition (SLSDC) was held at the Innovation Hub, Nagaland Science Centre, Dimapur, on October 27 on the theme ‘Science and technology for the benefit of mankind’.

According to a DIPR report, Little Star Higher Secondary School (LSHSS), Dimapur, won the top prize at the contest.

The school will now represent the state at the zonal level, more specifically at the North-East Zone Science Drama Competition scheduled for November 24 at the Regional Science Centre in Guwahati.

Bendang Walling, a prominent theatre practitioner and filmmaker, alumnus of the National School of Drama, New Delhi, and artistic director of Hill Theatre in Nagaland, attended the competition and served as the event’s special guest and chief judge.

The Science Drama Competition is an annual event held across the country with the primary goal of showcasing the creative talents of young participants. It provides a platform for using drama as a powerful medium to address socio-scientific issues of contemporary relevance in society.

The National Science Drama Festival (NSDF), which is organised and managed by the National Council of Science Museums, begins at the state level, progresses to the regional level, and culminates at the national level.

Nagaland SLSDC is sponsored and organised by the department of Science and Technology.
