DIMAPUR — Nagaland defeated Arunachal Pradesh by an innings and 38 runs on Sunday to qualify for the semi-finals of the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2023-2024, played at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima.

Trailing by 188 runs, Arunachal had to bow out of their campaign as Nagaland’s Imliwati Lemtur outwitted their batting line up with 7 wickets haul, an update stated.

After Arunachal’s opener Kumar Nyumpu (54 runs) and Doria (51 runs) gave them a head start, the remaining batsmen could not rise up to the occasion, except for a spirited fight back from Ete with 31 runs.

Besides Lemtur, Tahmeed contributed two wickets and Khrievitso Kense one wicket. Tahmeed also reached his 50th first class wickets.

Having won their match with a bonus point, Nagaland will now take on Hyderabad in the semi-finals to be played from February 9 to the 12th.
