KOHIMA — Two popular Naga musicians -- Alobo Naga and Moko Koza -- won at the seventh edition of Radio City Freedom Awards (RCFA) in different categories.
The winners were announced virtually on Friday night.
Moko Koza with his song ‘Naga Manu’ won Best Hip Hop/Rap Artiste category while Alobo Naga's ‘I’m yours’ won the Best Rock Artiste for this season.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]Moko Koza while speaking to Eastern Mirror shared that he is elated on the achievement as the category was also tough one with big names competing in the category. H expressed gratitude for the support extended to him after winning the award though vote count.

It maybe mentioned that Alobo’s ‘I’m yours’ was nominated in the category along with artistes including The Yellow Diary- ‘Roz Roz’, Naayalak’s ‘Zakir’, Idanim’s ‘Dahr’, Last Minute India’s ‘Kagaz Ki Naav’, Junkyard Groove’s ‘Fable’, Mysore Xpress’s ‘Starlight’, AKOG’s ‘Monkey (In the middle)’, Riko Lama’s ‘Awaz’ and Anand Bhaskar Collective’s ‘Ufag’.
While Moko Koza was nominated in the Best Hip Hop/ Rap Artist category with other artistes including Fotty Seven for ‘Banjo’, Awessum Frankie for ‘Mauj Hai Bhai’, Samir Mohanty’s ‘Indian sound’, Anohnymouss’s ‘Thodaravo’”, Vivieck Rajagopalan’s ‘K Rap’, Venkatesh Vuppala’s ‘Modati Chupe’, Moksh’s ‘Bharat’ and Brodha V for ‘All Divine’.
The jury for the season were: Atul Churamani, Managing Director, Turnkey Music & Publishing Pvt. Ltd; Vijay Basrur, Founder of OKLISTEN; Aishwarya Natarajan, Founder Indianuance; Heena Kriplani, Head of TuneCore, India, TuneCore/ Believe; Anurag Tagat, Music Journalist and Narendra Kusnur, Music Journalist and online show host.
The seventh edition of Radio City Freedom Awards was launched on February 28, 2023 while online voting started from March 12 and closed on March 21.
It may be mentioned that RCFA started in the year 2013, is the first independent music awards of the country. It is a platform synonymous with magnifying and revolutionising independent music.
