PSA announces its 57th meet cum Naga wrestling event

Dimapur, Feb. 17 (EMN): The 57th Meet Cum First Naga Style Category Wrestling of the Phek Sports Association (PSA) will be held from February 24 to the 27^th at Phek Village Local Ground.

An update from PSA president informed that Deputy Commissioner of Phek, Razouvolie Dozo will be the inaugural guest of the meet to be hosted by TN Khel and Treasurer of Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA), Vezuhu Keyho will be the valedictory guest.

The four-day event will feature ‘seven each of track and field events, two game events and Naga style category wrestling’ and a ‘running cash prize amount of INR 3,45,000 along with other individual cash prizes will be awarded to the winners’, according to the update.

All the participating teams have been asked to submit flag measuring 5×3 ft, an entry fee of INR 2,000, and one woodpile measuring 6×6 ft. Only two participants from each unit will be allowed to partake in the track and field events and categories for Naga style category wrestling are: below 65 kg, below 74 kg and below 86 kg, it was informed.

Vegetables and lodging will be arranged by the hosting unit to all the participating teams, it added.

Hukhoneyi Soho, President of Nagaland Wrestling Referee Board, and Vekhoseyi Keyho, President of Phek District Football Referee Association, will be the field marshal and chief referee of the meet, according to the update. It added that umpires clinic and official discussion hour will be held at 2 on February 23, at the Association Rostrum.
