Picto urges to make Zunheboto ‘best performing district’

DIMAPUR — The new chairman of Zunheboto district planning and development board (DPDB), MLA Picto Shohe, called upon all the members to cooperate and sincerely work together to make Zunheboto one of the best performing districts in Nagaland.

Shohe stated this during the monthly DPDB meeting held at the conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s office on Thursday. He encouraged the board members to work together and bring about change in the society.

He further thanked all the legislators from Zunheboto for making him the board chairman, stated a DIPR report.

Also speaking at the meeting, the advisor of Food and Civil Supplies and Legal Metrology, KT Sukhalu, commended the administration and superintendent of police, Zunheboto, for the successful completion of ULB elections peacefully and also thanked the citizens for their cooperation.

He advised the deputy commissioner to ensure that all the head of offices are present during the DPDB meetings. Besides, he advised the members to not only attend the meetings but also bring the department’s proposals so that the legislators could do their best to help the departments.

Stating that the government is taking up various measures to contain any malpractices in the working of offices, he advised the officers to be in station and work sincerely for the welfare of the people.

The deputy commissioner and DPDB vice chairman, Rahul Bhanudas Mali, also thanked the members and everyone involved in the successful completion of the recently concluded ULB election.

During the meeting, the members discussed on inclusion of Sutsa (Sumi language) at BA or degree level; opening of JNV institute at Tokiye block in Aghunato; financial assistance for OST centre at District Hospital; registration of VK Range Students’ Union and recognition of Viza village under Suruhuto.

After the discussion, the house approved the proposals and recommended to higher authority for further necessary action.
