Phek district to conduct online poetry writing contest

Commemorating the National Girl Child Day that falls on January 24, the district administration and the district level centre for women (DLCW)- Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK), Phek, under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) have decided to organise an online poetry slam competition on the theme ‘I stand for her.’

An update from the organisers on Wednesday called all poetry enthusiasts to make entries/ participate in the competition. It also informed that the competition would be open for all indigenous habitants of Phek district from both genders.

Stating that the minimum age for the participants should be 18 years, the organisers urged all the concerned to furnish details during submission of script along with name, contact number and address.

While the entries should be in English language, organisers have urged the participants to submit title for the script and also submit video recorded with good quality audio/video in landscape format in mobile phone or camera.

The competition would be judged based on the theme and content, poetic language, quality of the performance, vocal, originality and the time limit should be three minutes, it informed.

It further added that a cash prize of INR 10,000 would be awarded to the first winner, INR 8,000 to the runner-up, INR 5000 for viewers choice and two consolation prizes of INR 3000 each.
