Dimapur, Feb. 24 (EMN): The People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) delegation led by Minister for Higher Education and Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along, who is also the state BJP President, called on Union Minister for Ministry of Education, Ramesh Pokhriyal at his official residence in New Delhi, on Wednesday.
The delegation included Minister for Housing and Mechanical, Tongpang Ozukum; advisor for IT&C, Science and Technology and NRE, Mmhonlumo Kikon; Advisor for Horticulture, Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthan; and Advisor for Technical Education and Election, Medo Yhokha, according to an update from Kuolie Mere, PRO (IPR) Nagaland House, New Delhi.
While congratulating the Education minister for the new National Education Policy, the delegation apprised him about the activities of the Higher Education and Technical department of the state and thanked him for considering the Central schemes in the state under RUSA 2.0. They also lauded him for reviving RUSA 3.0, saying that it will benefit Nagaland and other north-eastern states.
The update informed that the delegation requested Pokhriyal for establishment of a Professional College of Horticulture under RUSA 2.0, National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR) and Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) in Nagaland this year.
Meanwhile, the union minister congratulated the state for successfully implementing the RUSA scheme and said he would consider the request for establishment of Professional College of Horticulture and an NITTTER in the state. He also called on the DoNER Minister in-charge and requested him to convene a meeting with the state along with him to discuss the problems faced by the north-eastern states on Education sector.
