KOHIMA — The Photography Club Kohima (PCK) on Saturday observed World Photography Day at D/Café in Jail Colony, Kohima, by displaying about 90 photographs for public viewing.
Speaking to Eastern Mirror, Suchamayang Kichu, president of Photography Club Kohima, informed that 27 participants came forward to compete in three categories namely Culturally yours-the shawl, Wedding photography-the storyteller, and school category.
He said World Photography Day started long back which is observed annually on August 19 and added that the day is being celebrated together to interact with one another.
Kichu maintained that to take forward, the Photography Club Kohima has introduced a school category this year to encourage the children to develop interest and motivate them. He added that the club would look forward to collaborating with other photography clubs to celebrate the occasion.
The president further appealed to the people to keep encouraging the photographers, appreciate their works and support them.
In the Culturally yours-the shawl category, Neiretuonuo Miasalhou was declared winner, while Tshetsholo Naro and Visiesotuo Meyase won the second and third positions respectively.
In the wedding photography-the storyteller category, Kezevituo Viswentso was declared winner, while Apen Quing and Tosapautok Phom won the second and third positions respectively.
In the school category, Edin Chungdok was declared winner, while Thujosayi Rhakho and Aowati Aier won the second and third positions respectively.
