Kohima, July 7 (EMN): The Parliamentary Committee on Naga political issue will hold a meeting with all the elected members and the two members of parliament (MP) on July 16 at Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) conference hall.
This was informed by Minister for Planning and Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs Neiba Kronu, who is also the member secretary of the Parliamentary Committee on Naga Political Issue following a core committee meeting held at Chief Minister’s residential complex in Kohima on Thursday.
He maintained that the July 16 meeting, which will not be an Assembly session, will be a serious discussion and will be held following the mock-drill of the Indian Presidential election, which is scheduled to be held.
Kronu asserted that 15 members were present for the core committee meeting on Thursday.
“As of now, the talk is little bit having some gap, so we feel that they should come closer and we will have discussion on that very day (July 16), the stand of the core-committee will also be discussed on that day,” said the member secretary.
When asked about the stand of some civil society leaders mooting for the idea of third party intervention on the talks as observer, Kronu said the issue was not discussed at Thursday’s meeting as it was only a ‘short discussion’.
