Over 6 lakh Ayushman cards issued in Nagaland

DIMAPUR — As of January 14, 2023, a total of 663,405 Ayushman cards were issued in Nagaland under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri-Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY). Additionally, 175 hospitals have been empanelled.

According to the National Health Authority report, Dimapur has the highest number of empanelled hospitals at 39, followed by Kohima with 30, Tuensang with 20, Mon with 14, Phek with 13, Zunheboto with 11, Kiphire with 9, Wokha with 8, Peren with 7, and Longleng with 3.

As of today, approximately 3,45,590 cards have been created for females, 3,17,779 cards for males, and 36 for others in the state.

Dimapur leads with 1,23,944 Ayushman card holders, followed by Mon with 88,125, Kohima with 72,903, Mokokchung with 64,104, Tuensang with 57,926, Phek with 52,319, Zunheboto with 43,573, Wokha with 37,735, Peren with 30,958, Longleng with 25,129, and Kiphire with 20,358.

The number of AB PM-JAY card holders reached the milestone of 30 crore on January 12, 2024, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The scheme aims to provide health coverage of INR 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalisation to 12 crore beneficiary families.

Among the states, Uttar Pradesh leads the list with the highest number of Ayushman cards created, totalling 4.83 crore. Following closely, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra hold the second and third positions with 3.78 crore and 2.39 crore cards, respectively.

Notably, 11 states have more than one crore Ayushman cardholders.
