Organisations condole Ghokheto’s demise

Dimapur, Dec. 13 (EMN): Nagaland unit of the National People’s Party (NPP) has mourned the untimely demise of K Ghokheto Chophy, president of Naga Council Dimapur, who passed away at Apollo Hospital in New Delhi on Dec. 11.

NPP state president Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema stated that Naga people in general and the citizens of Dimapur have lost a resolute and principled leader with his death. He added that Chophy would always be remembered by generations to come as a man of upright nature who not only led the Naga Council Dimapur towards its goals and objectives but also guided the Naga society with deep wisdom and rare acumen.

He, on behalf of all rank and file of NPP Nagaland, conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed to the God Almighty to grant them strength and spiritual courage to bear with the loss.

In another statement, the Nagaland Medical Dealers’ Association (NMDA), while mourning the demise of Chophy, described him as an extraordinary man whose life was of selfless service for the people, love, compassion and excellence.

The association lamented that the Nagas have lost a dedicated leader in his demise. It further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
