KOHIMA — A fatal road accident occurred at the National Highway-29 Peducha area on Wednesday morning around 11 am, claiming the life of a man.
According to the Kohima Police PRO, the victim was identified as Diswang Hau, who was serving as Gaon Bura (GB) of NST Colony, Dimapur.
He was the sole occupant of the Swift Dezire travelling from Dimapur towards Kohima.
Eyewitness accounts suggest that the vehicle lost control while overtaking another car and hit a culvert.
The vehicle fell into the drain due to the impact, said the police.
The funeral service of the deceased will be held at TPM Convention Ground Dimapur on Thursday at 8 am, before the mortal remains are taken to Poilwa village in Peren district for the final rites.
