The Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) is organising the 1st Belt Wrestling championship on the March 17 and 14th NWA Open Naga Wrestling Championship 2023 on March 18, 2023 at State Stadium, Dimapur.
A press release from NWA informed that the Deputy Chief Minister, Nagaland TR Zeliang will be the special guest for the inauguration of the Open Naga style wrestling while President of Tenyimi People's Organisation (TPO) Timikha Koza will be the inaugural guest for Belt Wrestling championship.
Belt Wrestlers of both male and female categories from Manipur have confirmed their participation while prominent and champion holders in Naga style wrestling are also on the list, it said.
Weight measurement on March 16
All belt wrestlers have been informed to report to the venue at 2 pm on March 16, for weight measurement. Any Naga style wrestlers willing to participate in the tournament have been requested to submit all necessary particulars to any of the office bearers or respective units of NWA latest by March 16.
