- DIMAPUR — The National Students' Union of
India (NSUI) Nagaland has criticised what it stated was the state government's
"lethargic attitude" towards the ongoing protests regarding the
regularisation of 147 assistant professors within the department of Higher
Education.
- In a press statement released on Wednesday, the Nagaland
unit of NSUI asserted that the Cabinet decision on April 21 to put the
absorption of the 147 assistant professors on hold was in "blatant
disregard" for the legitimate demands of thousands of students currently
protesting.

- “The NSUI Nagaland unequivocally demands that the Cabinet
rescind this regressive decision. We call for the dissolution of the committee
formed in this regard and issue a notification explicitly stating the
revocation of order No. HTE/HE/13-3/2020(pt-1) dated 17th December, 2024.
- “The NSUI Nagaland also implores the chief minister to
immediately sack the minister in charge, Mr. Temjen Imna Along, and replace him
with someone who is more sensible, responsible and educated and who is
genuinely serious and sufficiently qualified to handle the department,” the
statement read.
