Kohima, Aug. 27 (EMN):
Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM) under the Rural Development department inaugurated the Friday weekly bazaar of the Self Help Groups (SHG) in Chetheba town under Phek district on Friday.

Speaking at the inaugural function, the extra assistant commissioner (EAC) of Chetheba, Omegali, encouraged the women folks to undertake activities which would generate income. She also underscored the crucial role of women in family and in the society.

In his keynote address, the block programme manager (BPM), Senovielhou Koza, informed that NSRLM’s main focus was to stabilise and enhance the livelihood of the poor in farm and in non-farm sectors. He also informed the three pillars/ principles of NSRLM, which included vulnerability reductions and livelihoods enhancement through deepening/ enhancing and expanding existing livelihoods option and tapping new opportunities in farm and non-farm sector; employment to build skills for the job market outside; and enterprise to nurture self-employment and entrepreneurship.

The head GB of Chetheba town, Motahu Rokha, also exhorted the participants.
