NSF Trophy: Yhome FC, End of an Era book quarter final berths

KOHIMA — End of an Era and A Yhome FC displayed their superior tactics to outplay their rivals on day-11 of the ongoing 23rd NSF Martyrs Memorial Trophy played at IG Stadium, on Friday.

In the first match, A Yhome FC outgunned Patkai Christian College 4-1, with Yhoto (30) of Yhome opening the team’s account in the 8th minute. He then went on to score in the 49th and 57th minutes to earn a hat trick.

His team mate Jhonny (11) contributed a goal in the 29th minute to take the score 4-0.

The lone goal for PCC came from the boots of Rukuwe (10) in the 72nd minute.

With this victory, A Yhome FC secured a place in the quarterfinals where they will face another formidable opponent, New Market FC.

Mhasikhotuo (16) was named the man of the match, and the award was presented by Vitsikolie Kehie, a former ASU leader and organising committee member.

In the second match, End of an Era thrashed Khuzama Youth Organisation with a convincing 5-1 goal margin.

Khuzama Youth Organisation took an early lead when Vilhuvoto Sale (12) netted the opening goal in the 2nd minute. However, their lead was short-lived as Kivi Zhimo (10) equalised in the 10th minute and went on to score three more goals in the 32nd, 56th and 67th minutes. Nyithong (7) contributed another goal for End of an Era in the 13th minute.

Their victory secured them a spot in the quarterfinals.

Kivi Zhimo from End of an Era was named the man of the match, and the award was presented by Mteisuding, vice president of the NSF.
