NSF Trophy: Red Scars FC and New Market FC blank rivals

KOHIMA — In an exciting display of football prowess, both Red Scars FC and New Market FC emerged victorious in Thursday’s matches on the 10th day of the ongoing 23rd NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy at IG Stadium, Kohima.

Red Scars FC demonstrated their dominance on the field in the first match, defeating All Nagaland Two-Wheelers Taxi Association (ANTWTA) with a commanding scoreline of 6-0 goals.

Shalo Kemp (9) scored the game’s first goal in the 32nd minute and added two more in the 35th and 49th minutes for a well-deserved hat-trick.

Sentisang (17), Asito Krose , and Sinlo Kent (11) scored in the 46th, 55th, and 66th minutes, respectively, securing the Red Scars FC’s resounding victory.

Red Scars FC won convincingly, 6-0. Their next challenge awaits as they prepare to face Viswemi FC.

Akuo Zhasa, a former Angami Students’ Union leader, presented Sinlo Kent (11) of Red Scars FC with the Man of the Match award.

In the second match, New Market FC defeated Mima FC 4-0.

Neisede Peseyie (23), who scored in the third minute, provided the early impetus. Thejasetuo Gwirie (7) continued the scoring spree with two goals in the 24th and 81st minutes.

Khiuwamgbo  added another goal in the sixth minute to cement New Market FC’s dominance.

Khiuwamgbo was named man of the match, and the award was presented to him by Vikholie Yiese, political assistant to the minister for Women Resource Development and Horticulture.
