NSF felicitates Naga toppers in HSLC, HSSLC

Kohima, June 30 (EMN): The Naga Students Federation (NSF) on Thursday organised a felicitation programme for Naga toppers in HSLC and HSSLC examination 2022 held at RCEMPA, Jotsoma Kohima.
Advisor of IT, Science and Technology, NRE and one of the guest speakers, Mmhonlumo Kikon, advised the toppers not to rest on their laurels but be more ferocious, competitive, consistent, and work hard for the dream set. He asserted that the government of the day is working towards delivering good governance to the people based on meritocracy.
Terming the challenges of climate change and energy as real, Kikon stated that the government of India with the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, himself is leading in the front to secure energy challenges with good policies to ensure that the country does that suffer. The advisor further encouraged the students not to rely on reservations or quota but compete with the whole students in India.
Meanwhile another guest speaker, J Kumo Sha, former president of ANSAM and MLA from Manipur, told the toppers to strive harder and maintain the momentum. He advised the students to inculcate the habit of reading and respect one another in the society and further challenged the toppers to be ambassadors of education and pride of the Nagas.
Imsennaro Walling, Rank 585 in UPSC examination 2022, inspired the students to have passion stating it is an ideal way to happiness. She also stressed on the importance of having purpose in life, determination and resolution, discipline and self-control, and also laid emphasis on the importance of maintaining interpersonal relationships, healthy body and mind.
Walling also stressed on proper and wise use of social media besides inculcating a good habit of reading. She concluded her speech by urging the students to strive with diligence, honesty and integrity until they reach their destination.
Speech on behalf of the toppers was delivered by Limasungla, Top 1 in HSSLC (Arts) examination.
In his presidential address, NSF president, Keghwayhun Tep, informed that holding felicitation programme has been a tradition of the Naga students across the Naga inhabitat irrespective of the artificial boundaries. He informed that a total of 72 toppers including 40 in HSLC, 29 in HSSLC under NBSE and three class 12 toppers from Manipur Board of School Education were felicitated on Thursday.
Felicitation of toppers was led by Medovi Rhi, NSF education secretary, and special prayer for the Naga toppers was said by Fr. Gwatilo Alex Tep, assistant priest of SFS Parish, Kohima.
A special appearance was made by the Testeo Sisters, while a song was presented by Chinia Kayina and Chovoa Kayina.
