NPF issued party tickets to six more candidates in the second phase by the president, Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu at party central office in Kohima on Sunday.

A statement from NPF said that more tickets were expected to be issued on February 6.

Speaking at the ticket-distribution programme, Liezietsu said the NPF party is facing a ‘temporary setback’ as it cannot participate in all the 60 Assembly constituencies, adding that there were many party ticket seekers but it decided to ‘marginalise and issue only to the best candidate’.

Leader of NPF legislature party, Kuzholuzo Nienu, asserted that NPF is not fielding candidates in all the 60 seats but the party will “produce the best result in the coming election”.
