- BJP Nagaland holds candlelight tribute for Pahalgam victims

- KOHIMA — Coming out strongly against the
Pahalgam terror attack, Deputy Chief Minister and BLP leader Y Patton asserted
that there is no place for terrorism and those responsible will face justice.
- The deputy CM was addressing a candlelight tribute in memory
of the victims of Pahalgam at the BJP head office, Kohima, on Tuesday evening.
- Patton recalled the April 22 Pahalgam attack in Jammu and
Kashmir's Anantnag district, which claimed 26 lives and injured around 20
others, reportedly carried out by armed militants affiliated with the
Lashkar-e-Taiba.
- “This attack has drawn widespread condemnation from the
international community. The attack has affected tourism in the region, with
many visitors leaving Jammu and Kashmir”, he said.
- He asserted that the NDA government under the leadership of
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is very serious about the incident and committed
to tackling the perpetrators with a strong hand.
- “As we come together this evening to pay candlelight tribute
in memory of the victims of the Pahalgam attack, we condemn terrorism in the
strongest terms and rally behind the stance of the Prime Minister of India,” he
said.

- Patton also termed the act of terror as not just an assault
on the innocent but an attack on peace, unity, and the values the people hold
as a nation.
- “We strongly advocate that there is no place for terrorism,
wherever it may be”, the deputy CM said and called upon every peace-loving
citizen to vehemently condemn any acts of terrorism.
- “Let there be no doubt that those behind this heinous act
will be brought to justice, and terror will never be allowed to triumph”, he
added.
- Additionally, he informed that the BJP will be organising
similar events in Dimapur and across the districts.
- BJP State Vice-President and Advisor for Prison, Printing
and Stationery, Kropol Vitsu, in his speech, urged the people not to remain
passive but condemn the crime against humanity, plotted by outside agencies.
- Vitsu also called upon all Indians to stand united in
solidarity to “effectively and decisively defeat this barbaric act.”
- Advisor L Imkong Imchen, also equally condemned the act.
- The event was led by Thomas Magh, chief spokesperson of BJP
Nagaland, while a prayer was offered by A Libonthung Yanthan, pastor of Kohima
Lotha Baptist Church.
