DIMAPUR — Royim-led NNC (PB) clarified that the accusations of anti-government activities against its general secretary of Home and UT-I was orchestrated by the vice president, SS Pongkho, in retaliation to his suspension by conspiring with the president.

The central cabinet refuted the statement of induction of its general secretary general secretary of Home and UT-I stating that they were appointed officially through a cabinet meeting on April 29 and June 22, 2023 respectively. It added that the alleged termination initiated with central cabinet’s knowledge was null and void.

Claiming that the vice president has overstepped the boundaries enshrined in its revered constitution, thereby compromising the sanctity of democratic principles, it stated that the central cabinet resolved to terminate the vice president, SS Pongkho.

It stated that the office of general secretary and its cabinet are still intact and there is no difference between the general secretary and president.

The cabinet sternly warned against any action aimed at tarnishing the government’s image and added that the egregious betrayal of trust and subversion of constitutional principles would not be tolerated.

It affirmed that the government remained steadfast in its commitment in upholding the rule of law and ensuring accountability at all levels of governance. It further stated that NNC (PB) central cabinet advocates open-door policy in addressing misunderstanding, taking a proactive approach to fostering transparency and resolve dispute and potentially leading to better resolution of the issue at hand.
