DIMAPUR — Nagaland Indigenous People’s Forum (NIPF) has elected a new team to lead the organisation and take forward its efforts to protect the rights of indigenous people.

According to an update, the NIPF held a general meeting on January 13 at the Tourist Lodge in Dimapur, with president Dr. Temsuwati briefing the house on the forum’s activities and how it has been operating since its inception in 2017.

During the meeting, the house deliberated on various agendas for protecting Indigenous people and unanimously elected the office bearers to lead the forum forward.

Dr. T Lima Jamir was elected president, while H Sunep Phom, Kakheto K Sumi, and Keneilietuo Zumvu were picked as vice presidents. Richard Haolai was elected general secretary, Arila Sangtam as finance secretary, Honikali Lohe as publicity secretary, Alise Sangtam as cultural secretary and Kikheto as assistant general secretary.

Other executive members include Dr. Senti Jamir, T Nyiekha, and Philip Rengma. Khehoto K Swu and outgoing NIPF president Dr. Temsuwati were appointed advisors.
