NFR undertakes various initiatives to improve customer interface

DIMAPUR — The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has been taking several initiatives to improve the freight transportation and to provide better customer interface, informed an update issued on Aug. 22.

The update from NFR informed that among such initiatives, few more stations have been opened for handling of both inward and outward goods traffic during the month of July to facilitate easier transportation of various goods by customers.

To improve customer interface and augment freight revenue, Dhamalgaon station under Tinsukia division is opened for handling of both outward and inward all goods traffic including sand and ballast traffic as well as outward coal and crane consignment except POL, livestock, explosive, inward coal and crane consignment from July 12 this Year.

While, the Lakwa station under Tinsukia division is opened for handling of inward iron and pipes consignment for a period of 3 months from July 14.

Alipurduar division has generated additional revenue of INR 82.13 lakh in July due to continuous BDU efforts through stone and rice traffic.

Improvement of customer interface and opening of new terminals leads to increase loading and unloading of freight trains. As a result of which, revenue of NFR will significantly grow in the coming years, the update further informed.
