NFR general manager takes stock developmental works in upper Assam
DIMAPUR — The General Manager (GM) of N. F. Railway, Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, only Friday took stock of the developmental works and electrification at various stations in upper Assam by inspecting the North Lakhimpur–Dibrugarh (via Kamakhya) section under Tinsukia Division.
Accompanied by Divisional Railway Manager of Tinsukia Uttam Prakash and other officials, the GM also interacted with the railway officials and staff on enhancement of safety, security and passenger convenience, besides inspected safety-related gears at the railway stations.
Shrivastava inspected “the plans of new station building, crew lobby, foot over bridge, platform and other passenger amenities works at North Lakhimpur, Bordoloni, Dhemaji, Tangani, Dhamalgaon and Dibrugarh stations” as well as conducted window trailing inspection from Dhemaji to Bogibeel Bridge North Block Hut and Bogibeel Bridge North Block Hut to Tangani, said an update from NFR.
He also inspected level crossing gates, marshalling yards, coaching yards, minor and major bridges, running room, health unit and the ongoing station redevelopment activities under Amrit Bharat Stations Scheme.
He later discussed plans for infrastructural development and business expansion in the area with representative of unions and members of Divisional Railway Users’ Consultative Committee.
