KOHIMA — The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) Tseminyu region installed a new team of office bearers on Saturday for the tenure 2024–2027. The programme was held at Tseminyu Town Hall.
Addressing the event, R Khing, former minister and CEC member of NDPP Central, stated that politics offers people the opportunity to upgrade and enhance their standard of living, whether in a district, town, or village. He emphasised the need to support the ruling government in this regard.
Khing expressed his appreciation to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for a Cabinet berth then, as he was the lone representative of the Rengmas in the 60-member Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA). He also expressed his gratitude to the chief minister for granting full-fledged district status to the Rengma-inhabited Tseminyu.
The veteran politician encouraged the party workers and leaders to stand firm—with loyalty and belief that they can bring change—and to start preparing to transform the landscape of Tseminyu district through the NDPP under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and party president Chingwang Konyak.
