KOHIMA — The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) on Friday staged a protest against the alleged ‘paper leak’ in the NEET-UG 2024 Examination and cancellation of UGC-NET Exam 2024, at Congress Bhavan in Kohima.

Addressing the protest rally, Meshenlo Kath co-chairman of NPCC grievances cell, said that the protest was organised to express resentment over irregularities in conduct of NEET-UG and UGC-NET exams.

“How long will the Modi government fool the people of India?” Kath questioned.

On the ‘question paper leak’ in the NEET-UGC 2024 Examination, he lamented that while there is shortage of doctors in India, the government has been playing with the future of many serious aspiring medical students.

Pointing out that the total marks of NEET exam is 720, the NPCC member expressed shock that for the first time in the history of NEET, 67 candidates scored 100 percent which, he claimed, is impossible.

Kath went on to allege that that the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the NEET exam, is a “puppet of Modi formed in 2017.”

He further alleged that the question paper of UGC-NET (National Eligibility Test) exam held on June 18 for JRF and assistant professor was also “leaked.”

Maintaining that the protest was to show the party’s resentment against the government, he challenged the Union Education minister to resign on moral ground.

Sandemo Y Ngullie, vice president of National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) Nagaland unit, insisted that the NTA should come out clean and those behind the paper leak arrested.

Holding placards, the Congress party workers demanded accountability on the part of the University Grant Commission (UGC) so that the future of the students is not put at stake.
