KOHIMA — The Northern Angami Youth and Sports Association (NAYSA) Group D conducted the Chiechama chapter of NAYSA-D’s Presidential Trophy 2024 on Saturday at Chiechama Local Ground.

Mhasimhalie Mathew Yhome, the president of the Kohima District Football Association (KDFA), attended the event as the special guest and commended NAYSA-D for fostering a culture of sports at the grassroots level, noting that it would propel the youngsters forward.

Urging the youngsters to seize the opportunity provided by NAYSA-D, Yhome reminded them that the notion of being a “jack of all trades” would not lead to progress. He asked the youngsters to be specific and pursue their talent with the utmost sincerity and dedication.

Yhome challenged the participants of the Presidential Trophy to maintain the spirit of sportsmanship throughout the league, which is set to conclude by November.

As part of the event, around 50 youth attended the Dart theory and practical session, which was led by Team One Nagaland and supported by Dartskart, Fun Tree Crew, and Zumvii Printex.

Meanwhile, in the men’s football matches, Tuophema emerged victorious against Botsa with a score of 4-2, while Tsiemekhuma Bawe showcased their prowess by defeating Nachama 4-1. Seiyhama secured a win against Chiechama in an intense match.

In women’s volleyball, Tsiemekhuma Bawe claimed victory by walkover against Nachama, and Seiyhama displayed their dominance by defeating Chiechama. Botsa emerged triumphant over Tuophema.
