National Newborn Week begins in Nagaland’s Tuensang district

DIMAPUR — The National Newborn Week 2023 was observed at the District Hospital Conference Hall in Tuensang on Thursday on the theme “Nurturing newborn lives through community facility engagement.”

The week-long event was aimed at emphasising the crucial role of community engagement in ensuring the well-being of newborns, according to an update from DIPR.

“The exchange of knowledge and experiences between medical experts, healthcare workers, and community representatives aimed to strengthen collaborative efforts in providing quality care for newborns,” it stated.

The event saw active participation from many healthcare professionals including the medical officer and nurses from District Hospital Tuensang, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Neisakho Kere, Deputy Chief Medical Officer (DCM), Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs), and others, it added.
