KOHIMA — The ‘Sojourn Past’ of Nagaland’s ReDimension Games has won the ‘Upcoming game of the year award’ category at the 15th edition of India Game Developer Conference (IGDC) at HICC, Hyderabad, on November 3.

Announcing their winning via Instagram, the team wrote: “We won! So grateful for the amazing support we received from everyone.”

The team’s ‘Sojourn Past’ competed with four other finalists including Dream Cricket 2024 by Dream Game Studios, Fishbowl by imissmyfriends.studio (runner-up), Metal Haven by Xigma Games and Indus Battle Royale by SuperGaming, it was informed.

Sojourn Past is a pixel art action adventure set in an enchanting and mysterious world. The game asks one to join the protagonist as he uncovers the many secrets which the world holds. The game features action and bullet hell combat gameplay elements mixed with light-platforming elements. The world is packed with beautiful art and captivating music.

Based in Kohima, the ReDimension Games is a start-up gaming formed by three people including Pekrukhrietuo (programming and design), Imlijungshi (art and animation) and Loyievi (music composer).

In early 2022, the team decided to pursue a fully original and commercial indie title and development of Sojourn Past started.

The game is scheduled to release for Windows in 2024.
