Nagaland to join National Masters Games 2024 in Goa

KOHIMA — Nagaland will be participating in the upcoming National Masters Games 2024 in Goa this year.

Roko Angami, vice president of the Nagaland Masters Games Association (NMGA) informed that this year, Nagaland will be participating in two categories, the 40+ Men’s football and the 50+ Men’s football with teams from Kohima and Dimapur respectively.

For the National Masters Games 2024 which will be held from February 8 to the 12th, the 40+ Men’s football team from Kohima will consist of 16 players.

The team includes Roko Angami, who is also president of Nagaland Football Coaches Association and Director of Coaches, Nagaland Football Association and Mhasimhalie M Yhome, president of Kohima District Football Association, along with Viliebeizo Liezietsu, Thangchapu Rongmei, Khrietuo Rupreo, Akho Sorunuo, Khriengulie Rio, Burakum Ao, Kechangulie Dul, Vizoru Peseyie, Vizovor  Liezietsu, Pezavituo George Vizo, Vikepelhou Dziivichii, Lawrence Neikha, Vikuzo Zhotso, and Khriesazo Liezietsu.

Under team managers Visakholie Medoze and Wekulhi Lohe, the Kohima team began their practice season on Saturday.

The team played an exhibition match on Monday with the Kohima District Veterans Football Association (KDVFA) at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.

Meanwhile, Dr. Neikiesalie (Nicky) Kire, president KDVFA president will unveil the jersey of Kohima team on January 30.
