Nagaland spelling bee championship on October 5
KOHIMA — The 10th annual Nagaland Spelling Bee Championship is scheduled on October 5 and 6 at RCEMPA in Jotsoma. This was announced by Fountain Club during a press conference on Wednesday evening at Hotel Japfü in Kohima.
The chairman of Fountain Club, Ruokuovikho Chale, informed that the yearly event is being organised in collaboration with the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Nagaland.
The convenor of the competition, Vipopal Kintso, said the event is being organised on the theme ‘The learning edge’ to give platforms to the children and open the minds of the students. He informed that the last date of form submission has also been extended till October 3, 2023.
He also informed that the rules and regulations and participation forms could be downloaded from www.fountainclub.in, www.morungexpress.com and www.excellogics.co.in or from all DIET centres.
Vilekho Bio, member of Fountain Club, informed that the winner would receive cash award of INR 80,000, while the second winner would receive INR 60,000, the third winner INR 40,000. He added that the quarter finalists would be awarded with INR 10,000 each and young speller awards with INR 10,000.
The organisers informed all the interested schools/ participants to come forward and participate. Each recognised school/ institution from Nagaland could send two participants from standard 6 to 9. It added that participants should be officially forwarded by the head of institution.
