Nagaland receives 150 oxygen concentrators from WHO

In what will help Nagaland in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has sent 150 Oxygen concentrators for the state.

The State’s minister for Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, took to Twitter to announce it on Saturday.

“We are extremely delighted to have received 150 Oxygen Concentrator from World Health Organisation today (Saturday),” wrote the minister.

He said the oxygen concentrators would be distributed on need basis to all the districts of the State and strategic health care centres. He went on to add that the state government is doing all it during this extraordinary time.

The department of Health and Family Welfare also took to Twitter to express its thanks to WHO.

“State received 150 Oxygen Concentrators from WHO (World Health Organisation), 22nd May 2021. Grateful for the contribution and assistance during these difficult times,” it tweeted.

An update from WHO also informed that Dr. Shila Longkumer, CMO WHO, handed over the oxygen concentrators to the principal director of Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Niekhrielie Khimiao.

It added that the principal director had expressed his gratitude for the good gesture and generous contribution made to the department, especially in these times of pandemic when oxygen concentrator is much needed. He further wished WHO well and extended his acknowledgement on behalf of the department.
