Kohima, June 15 (EMN):
Member of Parliament (MP) Rajya Sabha and National President, BJP ST Morcha, Samir Oraon on Wednesday said change is coming to Nagaland and that the state is progressing in tune with Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India).

He was addressing the closing ceremony of Seva Sushasan and Garib Kalyan Parv-cum-tribal mela organised by ST Morcha, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland, at RCEMPA Hall in Jotsoma.

He acknowledged the BJP workers for highlighting the achievements of the eight years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government to the grassroots and in creating awareness and carrying forward the missions at every level. He added that women in the state were also actively involved, ‘which is a sign of women empowerment’.

Oraon also launded the leadership of BJP state unit president, Temjen Imna Along and all the party workers for systematically and wholeheartedly organising the events at various levels as per the BJP Central directives.

Delivering the presidential address, Imna Along said the strategic governance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to envelope oneself with workmanship among many political parties, but to be a worker is a privilege.

Acknowledging the BJP workers across the state for working relentlessly in the service of the people by cleaning the streets, hospitals, cemeteries and other initiatives, he urged them to carry the symbol of the party with humility, pride and honour.

He added that India has charted a new future, building bridges for Nagaland to connect with Delhi.

He also asserted that India has emerged as an assertive rather than an aggressive nation, and it is not only at the forefront of building its economy but also aiding weaker nations.

Abhay Giri, General Secretary (Org.) Manipur and Nagaland, highlighted various initiatives and development works of the Modi government.

The event was also marked by a song from Tati group, Kohima; traditional dance from Rengma cultural group; traditional fire-making demonstrated by Niuland team; and spear kicking presented by Pughoboto team. Yimkhiung cultural group presented a folk song and war dance by Khiamniungan cultural group.
