Peren district to organise mass social work

DIMAPUR — In view of the approaching monsoon season, the deputy commissioner of Peren, Vineet Kumar, has informed that there would be a mass social work across the district on June 3 to clear clogged drainages, jungle clearance etc. He has requested the administrators, town councils, head of offices, all village council chairmen and public leaders to carry out the social work in their respective areas. He stated that the voluntary exercise was required to reduce damage caused to roads due to clogged drainages. He added that a separate instruction would be issued for all head of offices.

TaFMA appoints representative from Shamator

DIMAPUR — The Shamator district coordinator of Tuensang Hills Accolade Society (THAS), Toshi Yimkhiung, was appointed as the new representative to TaFMA Open House Shamator district partner during a programme held at TaFMA office in Kohima on Tuesday. Toshi is a songwriter and singer. L Shahoto Yimkhiung, chairman of THAS since 2012, has expressed gratitude to TaFMA under the leadership of the chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, chairman of TaFMA, ThejaMeru, and TaFMA project director, Dr. Hovithal. He stated that TAFMA has provided a bigger platform where many grassroots talented youth were given opportunities and helped to scale greater heights. Theja Meru and Dr. Hovital have welcomed the new district partner.

NSCN (Akato) recovers bike

DIMAPUR — The crime suppression cell of NSCN/GPRN (Akato Chophi) recovered a Apache bike bearing engine number CE4CK2400982 and chassis MD634CE43K2CO1165. The cell informed the genuine owner to claim the bike within seven days by producing valid documents in original. F&CS dept. notifies AAY beneficiaries

DIMAPUR — The Food and Civil Supplies (F&CS) department has notified all the AAY beneficiaries under Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Nuiland districts to link their Aadhaar number/ card with their AAY ration card compulsorily by June 30 for authentication. It informed that AAY beneficiaries, whose ration cards are not linked with their Aadhaar card within the stipulated time, would be considered as non-existent and be replaced by genuine beneficiaries. The urban/ rural FPS are also instructed  to issue AAY food grains online through EPOS device only, after proper identification of the beneficiaries, the department stated in an update.

ANSTA convenes meeting

DIMAPUR — The All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association (ANSTA) has convened a meeting with all the teachers serving under Niuland district on May 26 at the premises of Government Higher Secondary School in Niuland town at 2 pm. The ANSTA president, Kasheto Sumi, and the general secretary, Pekingto Y Jimo, informed the meeting would discuss on the formation of ANSTA Niuland unit and other urgent issues. All the teachers under Niuland district are requested to attend the meeting.

AR distributes solar lights to langshai wangti village

DIMAPUR —Assam Rifles distributed solar lights to Langshai Wangti village in Mon district during a programme held on May 23. A defence release stated that the local residents have appreciated the efforts of the battalion in various civic action programmes in the region.

DC Tuensang revises rates of passenger vehicles

DIMAPUR — The deputy commissioner of Tuensang, Nokchasashi, has issued an order revising the rate of all the passenger vehicles plying from Tuensang headquarters to various districts and subdivisions with immediate effect. According to an order, the rates of Sumo Tata per passenger from Tuensang to Dimapur would be INR 1100, Tuensang to Kohima-INR 1000, Tuensang to Kiphire-INR 650, Tuensang to Shamator-INR 300, Tuensang to Noksen-INR 450, Tuensang to Chessore-INR 400, Tuensang to Sotokur-INR 300, Tuensang to Longkhim-INR 200, and Tuensang to Chare-INR 300. The rate of bus per passenger from Tuensang to Dimapur-INR 900.
