Kohima to inaugurate RRR centre

KOHIMA — Reduce, Reduce, Recycle (RRR) centre for Ward No. 4-Naga Bazaar, 5-Kitsubozou, 6-D Block, 7-Daklane, 8-New Market and 9-Midlane will be inaugurated at Super Market Complex (KMC office), first floor, on May 20 at 12:30 pm. The deputy commissioner of Kohima, Shanavas C, would inaugurate the centre, while the keynote address would be delivered by KMC administrator, T Lanusenla Longkumer. Banners/ posters and other items for all centres would also be distributed after the programme.

AR arrests four persons with liquor

DIMAPUR — Mon battalion of the 27 Assam Rifles arrested four persons from Assam along with 1836 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth INR 14,68,800 near Mon town on Friday. A defence release stated that the accused persons were arrested while trying to smuggle liquor in one Bolero pick-up and one Bolero passenger vehicle. The smugglers were caught during an area domination patrol carried out by Assam Rifles.

CMO Dimapur informs on medical board examination

DIMAPUR — The chief medical officer (CMO) of Dimapur, Dr. Limatula Aier, has informed that the medical board examination for service confirmation for government employees would be held on June 3, August 19 and November 18 in its conference hall. In a circular, the CMO stated that government employees, who have not received service confirmation and want to sit for the medical board, should submit their names to its office before the above mentioned dates with forwarding letter signed by the respective heads of departments.

NNC (PB) convenes meeting

DIMAPUR — Naga National Council (Parent Body) under the leadership of Yilow Humtsoe, Zhiongba Yimkhiung and V Nagi has convened its general meeting on June 2. The meeting has been convened to elect leaders for the next term of office and also to discuss important issues relating to peace and unity and political solution in the homeland. It has requested members from the regional councils, sub-regional councils, Naga women federation, senior leaders, executive council members and all the central leaders to attend the meeting. All concerned members are asked to contact its central office for further information.
