DIMAPUR — The School Education department has requested all the sub-divisional education officers (SDEO) to submit the actual enrollment of students from pre-primary to class-8 in GHSS, GHS, GMS and GPS under their respective jurisdiction. The principal director, Thavaseelan K, informed that the enrollment should be school-wise with an abstract of the total number of students enrolled, who require General, MIL and Alternative English textbooks. He added that the information could be submitted in both hard and soft copy at Room No. 419 of the directorate of School Education, Kohima, on or before June 30 or email at cvyphei47@gmail.com.

DC Kohima informs vehicles owners

The deputy commissioner and district election officer of Kohima, Shanavas C, has informed all private vehicle owners, whose vehicles were requisitioned during the recently concluded state assembly election, that payment for hiring charges would start from May 30 to June 1 at 8 am. Vehicle owners/ drivers of Kohima district have been directed to produce the requisition order and collect the hiring charges from the office of the deputy commissioner and DEO.

TOAHDCC and MHSD hold joint programme

Tribal Old Age Home-cum-Day Care Centre (TOAHDCC) and Mount Hermon School (MHSD), Darogajan, conducted a joint programme on Friday on the theme “Programmes to build inter-generational relationships between child, youths and senior citizens.” The programme was led by Shange Kuponghu, while songs and choreography were presented by senior citizens and students. Short sharing was delivered by Imlitongzuk Amri, director of TOAHDCC, and Kekhriesatuo Tep, administrator of MHSD.

SDF condoles demise of its member

Sümi Discussion Forum (SDF) has condoled the demise of Khekaho Zhimomi, son of Ghohuto, Head GB of Nihoshe village, who passed away on May 24. The forum stated that he was a free lance writer before taking up music as his profession. It added that his band ‘Lambs of God’ secured 2nd position at Nagaland Music Safari 2008 organised by Music Task Force (YRS). He  was also a recipient of the district best youth leader award during 2011-12 by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Zunheboto, for  selfless sacrifices rendered to the youth of the nation and the founding president of DC Hill East Wing Youth Forum, Zunheboto town. The forum added that he was a guiding force behind the success of the 100 years celebration of Sümi Naga Labour Corps World War-I in December 2018 and also co-authored the book “The World’s Youngest General” along with Dr. Kuhoi Zhimomi, which was published by Maurice Wylie Media, Northern Ireland. It lamented that his loss was not only to the family and Sümi community but also to the Nagas in general. SDF has conveyed condolence to the bereaved family and prayed for peace of the departed soul.

GSUCD to felicitate successful students

DIMAPUR — The Gorkha Students’ Union Chümoukedima District (GSUCD) will organise a felicitation programme for the successful students of HSLC and HSSLC from the Gorkha community of Chümoukedima on June 3 at Chümoukedima Town Council hall at 3 pm. The union has requested the Gorkha students of Chümoukedima district to submit a photocopy copy of their mark sheet on or before May 31. Students are asked to come in their present school/ institution uniform. The president of Nagaland Gorkha Association, Nobin Pradhan, would be the chief guest and the ADC of Chümoukedima, Dr. Kuzonyi Wideo, would be the guest of honour.
