DVC resolutions on assembly election
Dimapur, Feb. 17 (EMN): The Diphupar Village Council (DVC) held a joint meeting with the VDB Diphupar village on February 16 and resolved on three points for the ensuing 14th state assembly election within Diphupar village jurisdiction. DVC, in an update, informed that the village council and its members would remain a neutral body and that no outsiders would be allowed to enter the village on the polling day. It was also resolved that no youth camps would be allowed to set up within the village jurisdiction.
NNC (PB) to hold general meeting
Dimapur, Feb. 17 (EMN): In the interest of Naga people and national unity, the Naga National Council (Parent Body) informed that it would soon hold its general meeting. An update from NNC (PB) stated that it would also elect new team of representatives. In this regard, it informed all the central officials, senior leaders, executive council members, regional representatives, all the regional council authorities, Naga women federation and all the concerned to be prepared for the upcoming general meeting.
Appellate authority appointed for WRD
Dimapur, Feb. 17 (EMN): In pursuance to Sections 5 and 9 of the Right to Information Act, 2005, Nagaland government has appointed appellate authority (AA), public information officer (PIO) and assistant public information officer (APIO) in respect of Women Resource Development department. It has appointed the commissioner and secretary, Anenla T Sato, as AA; deputy secretary, Nikesono Kevichusa as PIO; under secretary, Hukashi Yepthomi, as APIO. At the directorate level, it has appointed the director, Vilone Sakhrie, as AA; deputy director, Chonben Odyuo, as PIO; and the registrar, Aluno Sophie as APIO.
ADC Tuli reminds parties and candidates
Dimapur, Feb. 17 (EMN): The additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of Tuli has reminded all the contesting candidates and political parties to obtain due approval, permission, and authorisation for vehicles campaigns, rallies, processions, meetings, use of loudspeakers, and setting up of election offices/ camps to ensure a smooth and peaceful process of election. The ADC reiterated that conducting any election-related activity without prior approval/ permission or submission of false/ wrong information would amount to breaching of model code of conduct and invite penalties as per related provisions of the law.
ZCOs observe Gaidinliu’s death anniversary
Dimapur, Feb. 17 (EMN): Zeliangrong Civil Organisations (ZCO) observed the 30th death anniversary of Rani Gaidinliu, freedom fighter of India, on February 17 at the office premises of the Zeliangrong Youth Front (ZYF) in Imphal, Manipur. An update from ZCO media cell stated that various leaders of Zeliangrong community attended the programme and spoke on the selfless contribution rendered by the late freedom fighter of India. It mentioned that the funeral service of Rani Gaidinliu was attended by the then Governor of Manipur, Chintamani Panigrahi, who was deputed by the government of India to Luangkao village on February 17, 1993.
