DC Kohima notifies on one-way traffic

Dimapur, Nov. 25 (EMN): The deputy commissioner of Kohima has issued a traffic regulation, informing that the road stretch from Naga Bazaar to Dak Lane will be converted into a one way with effect from November 26 till further notice. It stated that all vehicles exiting from Naga Bazaar and Dak Lane towards Razu Point should be restricted from 9 am till 1 pm. It informed that only vehicles proceeding downwards to Naga Bazaar and Dak Lane would be permitted during the restriction period. The order was issued in the interest of public service and to ease traffic congestion in and around Kohima town and in pursuance of the decision taken during the meeting with ward panchayats of Dak Lane, Naga Bazar, and D Block on November 24.

Mass social work in Kohima

Dimapur, Nov. 25 (EMN): In view of the upcoming Statehood Day celebration 2022 and Hornbill Festival 2022, the deputy commissioner of Kohima, Shanavas C, informed that a mass social work would be conducted on November 30 from 6 am to 9 am. In this regard, all district offices, shop owners/ business establishments have been directed to participate in the mass social work. It also informed that department-wise work distribution would be notified shortly. All shops/ business establishments would remain closed from 6 am to 9 am on that day and all shop owners would ensure that their respective shops and its surroundings are cleaned/white washed during the period.

‘Fertility art exhibition’ from today

Dimapur, Nov. 25 (EMN): An art exhibition called ‘Fertility art exhibition’ would be opened for public viewing from November 26 till December 12 at the Nagaland Art Centre, IMC Hall in Dimapur. The exhibition would also host artist talks, workshops etc. It informed that six contemporary artists from diverse backgrounds have come together to weave a visual experience encompassing a cultural dialogue concerning larger contextual frameworks of identity, family, community and nationality. The organisers are Limatola Longkumer, Akup Buchem, Mhasiselhu Viyie, Throngkiuba Yimkhiung, Jimmy Mahapatra Chishi and Panger Onen Aier.

KDCC to organise Bharat Jodo Yatra on Nov. 29

Dimapur, Nov. 25 (EMN): Kohima District Congress Committee (KDCC) under the aegis of Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) will organise Bharat Jodo Yatra on November 29 in the state capital, Kohima. The march will start from Congress Bhavan Kohima at 9 am and culminate at PHQ junction, while the motor rally as part of the ‘Unite India March’ will reach up to Naga Heritage Village, Kisama. KDCC has appealed to all like-minded people to come forward and join the rally.

ZBN to hold elections

Dimapur, Nov. 25 (EMN): Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland (ZBN) informed all the concerned Zeliangrong villages of Nagaland that the election of office bearers for the tenure 2022-2025 would be held on December 3 at Baudi Hall in Jalukie town. The organisation chief election commissioner, Nchaheing, has asked all recognised and unrecognised village authorities to obtain necessary information from its members at Digi Edge, Bangdi junction in Jalukie town from November 28 onwards. It informed that filing of nomination would be conducted from November 28 to December 1, withdrawal and scrutiny on December 2 and election on December 3.

MGM College inks MoU with NEISSR

Dimapur, Nov. 25 (EMN): MGM College, Dimapur, and North East Institute of Social Science and Research (NEISSR), Chümoukedima, have signed an MoU on November 25 at NEISSR. An update from MGM College stated that the MoU would enable both the higher education institutions to exchange programmes of faculty and students. Further, both the institutions would work together for research and development. MGM College principal, Fr. Dr. PS Varghese and the principal of NEISSR, Fr. Dr. CP Anto, signed the agreement in the presence of vice principal, administrative officer and faculty members.

ADC Mokokchung informs on e-roll

Mokokchung, Nov. 25 (EMN): The additional deputy commissioner and electoral registration officer of Mokokchung, Chumlamo Humtsoe, informed that the final electoral roll for 18 Wards of Mokokchung municipality has been prepared in accordance with the Nagaland Municipal Election Rules, 2003, and published on November 24. He stated that a copy would be available for inspection in the offices of the deputy commissioner, Mokokchung Municipal Council and all the 32 polling stations within MMC jurisdiction.

NPF clarifies news report

Dimapur, Nov. 25 (EMN): Naga People’s Front (NPF) has expressed regret over the press communique released on November 23 from its Press Bureau mentioning former MLA, Takoyaba, joining NPF. The Press Bureau clarified that former MLA Takoyaba is from the NPF party and his joining to the party does not arises. It has expressed regret on the error.
