DC Chümoukedima notifies public

Dimapur, Sep. 16 (EMN): The deputy commissioner of Chümoukedima, Abhinav Shivam, has informed all the concerned land owners, other government and non-governmental agencies whose land and other properties have been acquired under Section 9(2) of the Nagaland Land Requisition and Acquisition Act 1965 for extension of 4 lane NH 29 Dimapur-Kohima and the 4 lane bypass Daboka-Dimapur section to vacate/ remove building, plantations, fisheries and any other standing structure on the compensated area within 15 days from the date of issue of this notice to enable execution of 4 lane work smoothly. The DC has sought full cooperation for smooth implementation of the work.

Police recovers unidentified body

Dimapur, Sep. 16 (EMN): Dimapur Police on September 13 recovered one unidentified male body of a Non-Naga, age around 50 to 60 years, below Fly Over Bridge near auto-rickshaw parking. Dimapur Police, in an update, informed that on completion of all legal formalities, the dead body was shifted to Dimapur District Hospital morgue for post mortem. According to police, the deceased, who was black in complexion, had a black mole near the nose and was wearing black long pants and grey t-shirt. Claimant/ relatives/ friends of the deceased have been requested to contact the officer-in-charge, East Police Station, Dimapur.

GPRN/NSCN to hold prayer and fasting programme

Dimapur, Sep. 16 (EMN): GPRN/NSCN Council Headquarters (CHQ) Church, in collaboration with the General Headquarters (GHQ) Church, has decided to observe a one-day special “Fasting and prayer programme” for early Naga political solution on September 24 from 7 am to 12 noon at the Council Headquarters Church, Naga Unification Camp, Khehoyi. A GPRN/NSCN’s statement through its MIP has requested all its members from the civil set up and Naga army along with their spouses to attend and be a part of the special service.

Two persons held with drugs 

Dimapur, Sep. 16 (EMN): Nagaland Police, on September 14, intercepted a Guwahati-bound XUV 500 (black color) bearing registration number AS01-DJ-8364 between Khuzama and Viswema villages. A DIPR report stated that a thorough check of the vehicle, which was coming from Imphal, resulted in the recovery of 15 packets containing approximately 1,50,000 tablets of suspected YABA (WY). The driver of the vehicle along with another occupant namely Md. Salman Khan (32) of Bishnupur district in Manipur and Abdur Rajak (38) of Imphal East district in Manipur.

Power dept. informs on disconnection drive

Dimapur, Sep. 16 (EMN): The sub-divisional officer of Dimapur electrical sub-division No-II has informed that the department of Power would carry out disconnection/ raid drive to curb theft of electricity and disconnection of consumer for non-payment of electricity bills in villages, colony, wards falling under the jurisdiction of electrical sub-division No. II Dimapur. In this regard, electricity consumers are requested to clear up pending bills in time and regularise their service connections to avoid disconnection and associated inconveniences.

ADIP scheme camp in Mokokchung

Dimapur, Sep. 16 (EMN): The deputy commissioner of Mokokchung, Sashank Pratap Singh, has informed that a distribution camp under ADIP scheme is scheduled on September 17 at 9:30 am in the conference hall of the ADC (Planning), Mokokchung. The DC has requested all members of the district level committee for persons with disabilities including district education officer, chief medical officer, district social welfare officer, director of Care & Support Society, Mokokchung, to attend the programme.

Treasury officer informs pensioners

Dimapur, Sep. 16 (EMN): Office of the Treasury Officer inform all pensioners both life and family drawing pension from Kohima South Treasury that an annual physical verification for 2022-2023 would be conducted from October 10 to the 21st at its office during office hours. Treasury officer, Zubenthung Murry has directed all the pensioners to appear physically along with PPO book, renewed NPA ID card, life certificate and non-marriage certificate, failing which payment would be stopped.

FGN convenes joint meeting

Dimapur, Sep. 16 (EMN): Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) has convened a joint meeting with the Naga National Council (NNC) on September 26 at Transit Peace Camp (TPC), Kohima, at 10 am. A FGN press release through its Rali Wali ministry has requested all the central and regional authorities and high ranking Naga army officers of the NNC/FGN to attend the meeting. It is further informed all the Midan Peyus of FGN to mandatorily attend the meeting with brief report on the ongoing situation in each region.

Workshop on enhancing Aadhaar usage

Dimapur, Sep. 16 (EMN): A state-level workshop on ‘Recent initiatives for enhancing Aadhaar usage’ will be held at the Administrative Training Institute (ATI), Kohima, on September 19. An official bulletin stated that CEO of UIDAI, Dr. Saurabh Garg, will grace the workshop and highlight on the usage of Aadhaar services and also brief on ‘Notification under Section 7 and Section 4(4) (b) of Aadhaar Act and the framework on Aadhaar authentication.’

SCC organises skill development training 

Dimapur, Sep. 16 (EMN): With the objective to encourage students of Sao Chang College to discover one’s talents and interests, the Botanical Club of the college organised an online programme on skill development training on pickle making on September 15. The college, in an update, informed that entrepreneur and proprietor of Dwellington Home, Kohima, Viseno Yakhro, was the resource person. Yakhro demonstrated on how to make ‘yongchak’ and king chilli pickle. Principal of SCC, Vitsosie Vupru, in his welcome note, encouraged the students to develop skills and congratulated the Botanical Club on successful conduct of the training.

St. John College observes Literature Appreciation Day

Dimapur, Sep. 16 (EMN): English department of St. John College in Dimapur observed ‘Literature Appreciation Day’ on September 16. Head of English department, Inakali Assumi, has highlighted on the significance of the celebration and informed the event was organised to celebrate literary authors and the myriad works of literature. The students performed monologues and dialogues from major literary works such as ‘Great Expectations’ by Charles Dickens, ‘Harry Potter’ by JK Rowling, ‘Jane Eyre’ by Charlotte Bronte etc. The college’s principal, Prof. ST Janetius has encouraged the students to adapt their own authentic and unique way of writing. It informed that the Drama Club also enacted TS Eliot’s play ‘Murder in the Cathedral.’
