CYF cautions on child trafficking

Dimapur, Oct. 7 (EMN): Following report of child trafficking and kidnapping being circulated on social media, the Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) has appealed to all its bonafide members and subordinate units to remain aware and exercise cautionary measures to ensure the safety especially of children. The CYF advised all like-minded citizens to be vigilant of any suspicious individuals or groups loitering in their localities and to report such cases to the law enforcement authorities and administrative departments without delay. CYF has assured full cooperation to the public and solicited the same from the administrative departments in maintaining peace, comfort and safety of the people.

DC Tseminyu notifies on unlawful activities

Dimapur, Oct. 7 (EMN): The deputy commissioner of Tseminyu, Dr. Zasekuolie Chusi, has notified that any case of unlawful activities such as organised extortion, collection of illegal taxes, possession and carrying of illegal arms and ammunition etc., which have the potential to seriously impact the security of the state and maintenance of peace and public order, could be detained and prosecuted as per provisions of the National Security Act 1980 of section 3(3). The DC informed that section would remain in force with retrospective effect from September 1, 2022, till extended by the state government from time to time.

Power shutdown in Mokokchung

Dimapur, Oct. 7 (EMN): Department of Power under Mokokchung transmission division informed the public that continuous shutdown of 220 kV D/C Mariani-Mokokchung transmission line is scheduled from October 10 to the 28th for swapping of lines and bay exchange got 220 kV New Kohima-Mokokchung line under NERPSIP. During the shutdown period, it informed that power supply to Mokokchung load centre would be fed from Doyang hydro project via 132 kV Mokokchung-Doyang transmission line and from Likimro hydro project via 66 kV Kiphire-Tuensang-Mokokchung transmission line. The department appealed to all public to extend cooperation and bear with the inconveniences that might arise during the shutdown period.

BJP Nagaland congratulates Rajya Sabha MP

Dimapur, Oct. 7 (EMN): Nagaland unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has congratulated Rajya Sabha MP, S Phangnon Konyak, on her appointment to the department related to Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture. BJP Nagaland media cell stated that she had proven her worth as an epitome of empowered women in this generation. It added that her presence in the house of the people has invoked much interest from other states. With her appointment, it expressed hope that she would work with conviction for the welfare of her people and continue to bring more laurel to the state.

Draft e-roll for NTC published

Dimapur, Oct. 7 (EMN): The administrator and electoral roll registration officer (ERO) of Niuland Town Council (NTC), T Lemlila Sangtam, has notified that the draft e-roll has been published on October 4 as part of intensive revision of electoral roll for NTC. A DIPR report stated that the draft e-roll will be issued to all the nine wards under NTC for public reference. The period for lodging of claims and objections will be opened from October 5 to the 21st through Form 3 (inclusion of name), Form 4 (objection to entry of name) and Form 5 (objection to the particulars entered /correction) at the office of the ERO/AERO Niuland Town Council during office hours, it stated.

State BJP winds up ‘Seva Pakhwada’

Dimapur, Oct. 7 (EMN): Seva Pakhwada (service fortnight) launched by BJP national vice president, Dr. Chuba Ao, at Rongmei colony, Burma Camp in Dimapur, on September 19, culminated on October 1 at Chiechama village in Kohima district. An update informed that the team ‘Free Health Camp’, on behalf of BJP Nagaland and party president, thanked the department of Health and Family Welfare, healthcare professionals and primary and community health centres for extending voluntary services.

NSCN (IM) condoles demise of cadre

Dimapur, Oct. 7 (EMN): Member of collective leadership and caretaker kilo kilonser of NSCN (IM), Rh Raising, has condoled the demise of its deputy kilonser, Khekiye Shikhu from Hovukhu village under UT region, who passed away on October 6 after a prolonged illness. Raising stated that Khekiye joined the Naga national service with full commitment and served the nation with unwavering patriotism until his demise. He described him as a man of strong character and determination, who served the nation in various capacities with due sincerity and faithfulness. Raising has further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members.

Nagaland Congress condoles demise of Vizonyü

Dimapur, Oct. 7 (EMN): Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) president, K Therie, has condoled the demise of Vizonyü Theünuo, former director of Soil Conservation and elder brother of its working president, Khriedi Theünuo. Therie has described Vizonyü Theünuo as an exemplary officer with an excellent track record in service to the people, who was sociable, polite and down to earth. Therie added that he played an active part in social activities endeavouring to foster brotherhood and oneness between many different communities. Therie lamented that his passing away was an irreparable loss not only to the bereaved family members but also to the Angami community in particular and the Nagas in general. He, on behalf of rank and file of NPCC, conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members.

KLC begins traditional attire day

Dimapur, Oct. 7 (EMN): Kohima Law College has set Friday of every first week of the month as traditional attire day. The day was set to let the students, teaching faculty and non-teaching faculty come to college in traditional attire. The traditional attire day began at Kohima Law College on October 7 led by its principal, Soni Tep, and the teacher-in-charge for students’ welfare, assistant professor, Kezhokhoto Savi.

Chümoukedima DPDB meeting postponed

Dimapur, Oct. 7 (EMN): The DPDB meeting of Chümoukedima district for the month of October, scheduled on October 11, has been postponed to October 19 at 10 am in the DC’s conference hall. DC Chümoukedima, Abhinav Shivam, in a circular informed all members to attend the meeting positively.
