ADC Satakha restricts vehicular movement

Dimapur, Oct. 6 (EMN): In the interest of public safety and to facilitate smooth progress of fresh earth cutting works at Ch.94+500 to Ch.95+000 between Satakha and Zunheboto town and Ch.88.000 to Ch.88.500 between Kilo Old and Yezhimo stream (Chakabama-Zunheboto two-lane road construction), the additional deputy commissioner of Satakha informed that there would be total restriction of vehicular movement from 10 pm to 5 am till October 10. The restriction was necessitated to facilitate the speedy completion of works in the given locations so that basic public utility services are restored at the earliest and also for the overall safety of the public. The public has been advised to plan the movement along the route accordingly.

KU Mon unit summons optical fibre cable firm

Dimapur, Oct. 6 (EMN): Mon unit of the Konyak Union (KU) has asked Trident Infra Project Pvt Ltd., the contractor of Jio optical fibre cable, to report in its office on October 14 along with the DPR. KU Mon unit, in an update, informed that following complaints from the public, a joint team of KU Mon unit, T/Chingnyu Village Council and T/Chingnyu Student’s Union inspected the ongoing laying of optical fibre cables within their our jurisdiction. “But to our surprise the work allocation of outgoing Jio Company was not upto the expectation of the DPR,” it stated. Accordingly, KU Mon unit has requested Jio Company to stop the ongoing work with effect from October 7.

DC Kohima notifies public

Dimapur, Oct. 6 (EMN): The deputy commissioner of Kohima, Shanavas C, informed that land between Mengujuma to Zhadima village in Kohima district was required for acquisition for construction of 220 kV D/C transmission line from Dimapur to Zhadima AP 154 to AP 199 under the chief engineer (T&G), department of Power. In this connection, the DC, duly authorised by the state government as competent authority, has notified that if any person/party has any claims/objections over the said stretch of land/village areas to submit to his office within 30 days with effect from the date of publication of this notification.

BJP Nagaland congratulates Rajya Sabha MP

Dimapur, Oct. 6 (EMN): Nagaland unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has congratulated Rajya Sabha MP, S Phangnon Konyak, on her appointment to the department related to Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture. BJP Nagaland media cell stated that she had proven her worth as an epitome of empowered women in this generation. It added that her presence in the house of the people has invoked much interest from other states. With her appointment, it expressed hope that she would work with conviction for the welfare of her people and continue to bring more laurel to the state.

DC Chümoukedima notifies stakeholders

Dimapur, Oct. 6 (EMN): Prodigal’s Home, in collaboration with various stakeholders, will organise a community mental health programme (CMHP) awareness-sum-sensitsation programme for various stakeholders in Chümoukedima district on October 8 at CTC hall 10:30 am. In this regards, the deputy commissioner of Chümoukedima, Abhinav Shivam, has directed the deputy commissioner of police, all head of departments, and chief medical officer of Chümoukedima to depute officers and subordinate under the respective establishment to the programme. He also requested all the concerned village GBs, village council chairmen, president and representative of civil bodies and head of government schools to attend the programme.

Theünuomia Krotho condoles demise

Dimapur, Oct. 6 (EMN): The Kezonumi and allied clans of Theünuomia Krotho in Chakhesang area of Phek district has condoled the demise of its leader, Vizonyü Theünuo Angami, who passed away on October 4 at Eden Medical Centre in Dimapur after a protracted illness. Vizonyü Theünuo, retired director of Soil and Water Conservation, was the president of Angami Theünuomia Krotho and also the president of Nagaland Theünuomia Krotho. The organisation stated that it would remember him with profound gratitude for bringing the blood brothers closer under Theünuomia Krotho. It lamented that in his demise, a huge vacuum has been created among the Theünuomia family which would be difficult to fill. It further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

Disbursement of backlog destitute fund in Kohima

Dimapur, Oct. 6 (EMN): Angami Women Organisation (AWO) informed all the beneficiaries of assistance to destitute women in Kohima town other than those having account in SBI and NSCB that the department of Women Resource Development would disburse backlog fund for 2019-2020 at AWO KI in D block, Kohima from October 10 to the 12th between 11 am and 3 pm. Beneficiaries are asked to bring bank passbook, Aadhaar card and destitute card. It informed that fund for beneficiaries having account in SBI and NSCB has already been credited to their respective accounts.

AR donates wheelchair to ESM

Dimapur, Oct. 6 (EMN): Mokokchung battalion of the Assam Rifles donated one wheelchair to Tekationg Ao (95), physically challenged Ex-serviceman (ESM) of Assam Regiments and a resident of Chungtia village in Mokokchung district, on October 6. A press release from the Assam Rifles stated that the wheelchair was received by Temjen Ao, son of Tekationg Ao.

Bridges repaired between Mokokchung and Tuensang

Dimapur, Oct. 6 (EMN): In view of the temporary restoration of all the five bridges between Mokokchung and Tuensang on NH-202, the deputy commissioner of Mokokchung, Shashank Pratap Singh, has allowed goods carrying vehicles not exceeding 10 tonnes to ply. He informed that repair and restoration work would continue in all the five bridges and there could be traffic interruptions. He, therefore, requested the commuters to bear with the inconveniences.

Mon Police arrests two persons with liquor

Dimapur, Oct. 6 (EMN): Mon police while conducting MVCP at NST Junction in Mon town on October 1 intercepted a Bolero pick-up bearing registration number NL-04D-5199 and recovered 124 cases of IMFL of various brands. A press release issued by additional superintendent of police, Mon, informed that one woman identified as Wanshom (27) and resident of Mon town was arrested in this connection. Earlier on September 25, police while conducting routine checking at Tzit check gate seized seven cases of Kingfisher canned beer and three cases of AC Black whisky and arrested one Wangshei (32) and resident of Mon village. It stated that cases has been registered at Mon Police Station and investigations are on.
