Nagaland: Mmhonlumo Kikon exhorts students to be solution providers

Kohima, Oct 31 (EMN): Advisor of New & Renewable Energy Resources, IT & C, Science and Technology, Mmhonlumo Kikon, on Monday exhorted students to be solution providers and not creators.

The advisor was addressing the cultural fest of Little Flower Higher Secondary School (LFHSS) Kohima, held on the theme ‘Connect: Let’s celebrate our differences and live as one’ at the school campus.

Kikon urged the students to look at the larger picture and not to dwell on petty differences but to appreciate one another. “Jealousy is the weapon of the weak people and strong people will embrace challenge and competition,” he said.

Challenging the students to be hardworking and committed to meritocracy in every field, he said that even the steps of a few students will impact the world.

The advisor advised the students to focus on who they can become through competition and in order to achieve that, he asked the students to “begin, preserve and to finish.”

Chairman of Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE), Asano Sekhose, in her speech, commended the schools for inculcating the students to be responsible citizens and the reputation the school has earned over the years.

Pointing out the importance of hands-on training in the wake of NEP, she also stressed on the need to impart skill education and expressed optimism that the school will be a home for holistic education.

While urging the students to respect the cultural differences of one another, Sekhose also advised the students to preserve, protect and promote their respective culture and heritage.

On the occasion, various Naga tribes and communities presented an array of songs and dances to enthrall the guests and invitees.

Earlier, LFHSS principal, Sr. Lucy Gangmei, delivered the welcome address and vote of thanks proposed by the school’s vice-principal, Sr. Pinky Topno.
