Nagaland legislator inaugurates skill development training programme at Pfutsero in Phek district

DIMAPUR — Dr. Neisatuo Mero, member of Legislative Assembly, Government of Nagaland, inaugurated a 15-day skill development training programme on banana fibre extraction and handicrafts in Pfutsero under Phek district on November 16.

The training programme was organised by the Chakhesang Mother's Association (CMA), in collaboration with DIC Chozuba and in partnership with the Nagaland Tools and Training Centre (NTTC), Dimapur.

Addressing the gathering during the inauguration programme, the legislator lauded the organisers and the concerned department for taking up the initiative, while advising the trainees to make good use of the opportunity to acquire valuable skills and technical expertise.

Emphasising the importance of hard work, dedication, and consistency, he encouraged participants to aspire to become successful entrepreneurs.

The MLA also highlighted the enactment of the Nagaland Municipal Act 2023 during the recent emergent Assembly session and expressed hope that the upcoming elections to the municipal and urban local bodies will contribute towards the overall development of the state.

Pfutsero Ward Chairman, Vekielie Venuh, delivered the welcome note, while the president of CMA, Zhonulü Tunyi, and general manager of DIC Chozuba, Cholzo Sophie, also spoke at the inaugural programme.
