Kohima, Nov. 30 (EMN): Member of Legislative Assembly, 10th Northern Angami A/C, Khriehu Liezietsu, on Tuesday hosted a felicitation programme for the medal winners, coaches and team managers from Kohima village, who participated in the recently-concluded North East Olympics Games (NEOG) held in Shillong.
Addressing the felicitation event here at Hotel De Oriental Grand, Liezietsu exhorted the players to choose their sports discipline carefully and to excel at the international arena as well.
The MLA gave away cash incentives to the medal winners including Neiketoulie Belho, winner of three gold medals and ‘Best Athlete Men’ title holder, and the coaches.
Medoselhou Keretsü, former chairman of Kohima Village Council (KVC), advised the players to humble themselves before God for their achievements.
He also urged them not to rely on performance-enhancement drugs but put their trust in God and excel not just as sportspersons but as human beings too.
Vilieo Rutsa, former KVC chairman, also exhorted the players and said they should be dedicated and committed in their respective field.
The programme was chaired by Ruokuo Kire, former president Kohima Village Youth Organisation.
A host of special invitees and guest attended the felicitation programme.
