Nagaland Health minister to visit Mon hospital amid surge in dengue cases
DIMAPUR — Minister of Health and Family Welfare, P Paiwang Konyak, is scheduled to visit District Hospital Mon on Sunday (October 29) amid unprecedented surge in dengue cases in the district this year.
As per the latest data provided by the Health department, Nagaland registered 2899 dengue cases since June this year, with Mon accounting for 933 infections and the lone death in the state.
Among the districts, Dimapur registered the highest number of dengue cases at 1398, followed by Mon at 933 and Wokha with 197 cases, while Noklak has not reported any cases so far.
It may be mentioned that the government of Nagaland had recently deployed more healthcare workers and medical equipment to the District Hospital Mon after the district was gripped by dengue fever
The Health and Family Welfare department has also constituted a response team to monitor the dengue outbreak in Mon district.
