“There is no issue to speak about RIIN right now,” he said, adding that the government will proceed with the implementation once the modalities are clear.
The minister also spoke about preparations for the 25th Hornbill Festival, emphasising the festival’s focus on unity and welcoming tourists from across India and the world. He assured that the state government is prepared to accommodate a large number of tourists, with homestays and other accommodations ready.
He went on to say that Nagaland is a place where there can be experiential tourism, especially with its rich culture and the way of life. While the government may not be able to provide five-star accommodations for everyone, we will try to provide the best possible experience, he added.
He also highlighted the importance of the media in promoting tourism and the Naga people.
When asked about the ongoing case of sexual abuse involving Robert Kikon, a former pastor, who remains absconding, Along stated that “The government doesn’t act just because something has happened or will happen, but it takes time for justice to be meted out in the right manner.”
Condemning such heinous crimes against children or against any citizen, he assured that the police and the Home Department are aware of the case and that the government is committed to ensuring justice is served.
