Nagaland: Be pathfinders, sincere and hard working, Haiying tells Konyaks

Kohima, April 2 (EMN): Be hard working, sincere and dedicated in order to prosper as individuals, family and community, said Advisor for Prison, Printing and Stationary, H Haiying.
He was addressing the crowd that had gathered for the Aoleang festival organised by the Konyak Union Kohima (KUK) at the Naga Heritage Village, Kisama, and hosted by the Changlangshu-sa Kohima Unit, on Saturday.
Haiying urged the Konyaks to be pathfinders, responsible, united and spread peace, pointing out that the community live beyond the borders of Nagaland- in Myanmar, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
Speaking about the Aoleang festival, he said it is a heritage, culture and tradition being passed down by the ancestors to the future generations. Maintaining that cultural life is what identifies the Konyaks, he told the people to be truthful, decisive for good, and be corrective.
He also urged them to forgive and forget the past; renew to share love and understanding to live a meaningful life.
Meanwhile, former legislator Naiba, who is also the National Executive Member ST Morcha BJP, shared on the significance of the, while the president of KUK, H Angnyei Konyak and President of Angami Students’ Union Bisevi Nakhro shared greetings.
Traditional dance and songs were presented by Sey-ong Cultural Troupe, Tobu Area Union Kohima; Wakching Area Sheko lan; Mon Circle Nutan lan; and Aboi Area Nutan lan, while Angam Ukhung presented a song.
